P and H Cetus MV - Custom Information

Fast paced and responsive and really easy to carve and turn, this is the middle ground for those who want a bit of extra volume but are too light for the original Cetus. Perfect for new comers and experts to launch their adventures, the Cetus MV has superb stability in all conditions and the ability to inspire confidence is remarkable and truly unrivalled by any other sea kayak out there. 

P&H's handcrafted quality is on show here in its finest form. The MV has all the load carrying capabilities of the original Cetus with its two main hatches plus spacious day hatch and deck pod there is plenty of room for all your kit for an overnight stay or longer.

Construction Options

• Performance Kevlar Diolen Hybrid (LW Kevlar Diolen) - £2'965

P&H's Kevlar Diolen hull construction is lighter and more resistant to puncture than their diolen glass fibre construction. This construction adds kevlar to the hull and combines glass fibre and kevlar in the deck making the finished product around 3lbs/1.5kg lighter than a glass fibre - diolen kayak. A great combination of lightweight, strength and rigidity.

• Expedition Diolen - £3'175

Heavy Duty Diolen hull, Reinforced Diolen Deck, 35mm Wide Glass Outside Seam, Kevlar Keel Strip. The deck is also glass fibre with added reinforcement around the cockpit (for deep water rescues) and footrest mountings. It offers superb resistance to impact, abrasion, puncture and tearing. The toughest, stiffest and most durable construction suitable for the most challenging expeditions or hardest working coaches.

• Lightweight Kevlar Carbon Infusion - £3'835

Using even less glass and replacing it with more kevlar Carbon this is the ultimate in lightweight hull constructions. Saving approx. 4.5lbs/2kg over glass diolen - Some durability and stiffness is lost compared to a heavier construction due to the reduction in materials used and a keel strip is highly recommended with this option. Lightweight K/C Hull, Lightweight Glass Deck, 20cm Glass reinforced Outside Seam

• Expedition Kevlar Carbon Infusion - £4'195

Both the kevlar carbon constructions can be made with a clear gel coat on the hull, allowing you to see the kevlar carbon underneath. This option shaves around 2lbs (2 LBS/3/4 KG) Depending on model, off a kevlar Carbon or Lightweight Kevlar Carbon construction and is perfect for those looking for a really light kayak. Some durability and stiffness is lost compared to a heavier construction due to the reduction in materials used and we recommend a keel strip is used with this option. Lightweight KC Hull With Clear gelcoat, Lightweight Glass Deck, 20cm Glass reinforced Outside Seam

Seam & Keel Strip Options

Seams protect the join between deck & hull and are essential for heavy use & instructing. Glass wide seams for the inside & outside (20mm) are included in the price of Diolen construction boats. If you want the Carbon or Kevlar seam to go with your carbon/kevlar boat then the options & prices are below.

​A Durable keep strip adds protection and minimises wear on your hull's gelcoat. Available in either glass fibre or kevlar and in any colour you want.

Cockpit Rim Options

Glass rims with moulded in thigh grips are included in the price of a diolen consturction. If you want to shave weight, that it might be worth considering a carbon or kevlar/carbon rim.
