Venture Flex 11 |
![]() The newest Venture Kayak on the block, the Venture Flex 11 is definately a great boat that will introduce many people to kayaking for the first time. Ideal for both flat water paddling and day tours, it is a really stable base to learn and progress from. During the event, Sammy from Venture Kayaks managed to get a number of Sheffield City Kayaking Club members to jump in, (it wasn't really that hard apparently!!) to test and write down what they thought about the new Venture Flex 11.
So here's what they thought: (18 years +) Bob Pell: 'Really good on edge, good hull speed, turns well on edge, on the move and static. Handles like a smaller boat. Really easy to control, excellent tourer.' Andy Winfrow - Sheffield City Kayak club 'The Flex 11 lived up to its name - (flexible). Good straight lines with and without [the skeg. Great at breaking out making this boat is a great all-rounder. The cockpit was large enough, and neat and tidy with the skeg release to hand.' 'A+ - Great, very stable boat.'
(Under 18) John bell-Winfrow. Flex Venture Kayaks. 'I had a paddle in the new flex that Venture Kayaks brought to Millhouse's park for Cliffhanger. Starting from the back of the flex there is the waterproof storage comportment which I thought was a decent size for a weekend's paddle. Now for the cockpit. The seat was very comfy along with the backrest. Now for the Performance the Flex was stable and turned well with the skeg up, and with the skeg down it stayed in a straight line it also paddled well on it's edge and when paddling backwards. The overall finish was excellent with nice clean lines and shape.' If you are based in the Sheffield area and want to start canoeing or kayaking then check out www.sheffieldcitykayakclub.co.uk They are a really fun bunch of both male and females of all ages and super keen to get more people involved in the sport.
