What is all the fuss about?
After the rain gods delivered some weekend precipitation, we saw this as a superb opportunity to get the new Pyranha 9R 2 out on some Welsh gold.

So how different is it to the original 9R?
Pyranha kayaks have spent the last 18 months on making a successor to the original 9R – which has been described by many as having a ‘magic’ that no other kayak has. To make a new 9R that was going to out perform this was going to take time – and the wait was totally worth it.
Described by Pyranha as being faster & easier to control the the original 9R, this was proven as soon as it hit the Mawddach last Saturday. The way it glides & boofs with little effort, the edge to edge transfer was super smooth & snappy. More volume in the bow & stern make resurfacing more predictable and the stern recurve stops the bow lifting as much through drops and pushes that same momentum forwards making the new 9R much easier to control. Imagine a sporty F1 car, that is easy to drive and goes where you want it with very little effort, without having to fight it. It seems oxymoronic, but it was unreal.

The original 9R is an icon and changed the way kayak manufactures designed kayaks. But the 9R 2 is another innovator, another progressive design that keeps Pyranha Kayaks as industry leaders.
Both the new & original 9R are available to demo in store at Go Kayaking North West & at River Active in Llangollen.
