The 'Cetus' is a fast cruiser designed as a load carrier. It has become the natural choice for paddlers looking for a stable expedition platform or a fast, easy to paddle boat for long distance paddles. However it's not just a boat for long trips though, it's equally as capable being used as a fast day cruiser. The Cetus sees a resurrection of a concept we were playing around with ten years ago: the fourth hatch in easy reach in front of your cockpit. It's proving more and more popular with paddlers who want somewhere quick and easy to reach to stow a camera or day gear when things are getting a bit rougher.
For 2011 the original Cetus has been adjusted to create the new Cetus HV. Volume has been increased, redistributed and balanced in certain areas to give larger paddlers more knee and foot room with an increased carrying capacity. This has also allowed us to fine tune the seat position to improve tracking and give more neutral and predictable handling.

Construction Options

Performance Diolen - £2'595
P&H’s most widely requested option balances weight, stiffness and durability. It offers superb impact resistance and can be easily repaired if damaged. Is also availalbe in a lightweight Performance (LW Performance) option which saves approx 2kgs in weight.

Lightweight Kevlar Diolen Hybrid (LW Kevlar Diolen) - £2'645
P&H's Kevlar carbon hull construction is lighter and more resistant to puncture than their diolen glass fibre construction. This construction adds kevlar Carbon to the hull and combines glass fibre and kevlar carbon the deck making the finished product around 3lbs/1.5kg lighter than a glass fibre - diolen kayak. A great combination of lightweight, strength and rigidity.

Expedition Diolen - £2'895
Heavy Duty Diolen hull, Reinforced Diolen Deck, 35mm Wide Glass Outside Seam, Kevlar Keel Strip. The deck is also glass fibre with added reinforcement around the cockpit (for deep water rescues) and footrest mountings. It offers superb resistance to impact, abrasion, puncture and tearing. The toughest, stiffest and most durable construction suitable for the most challenging expeditions or hardest working coaches.

Lightweight Kevlar Carbon Hull (LW KC Hull) - £3'045
Using even less glass and replacing it with more kevlar Carbon this is the ultimate in lightweight hull constructions. Saving approx. 4.5lbs/2kg over glass diolen - Some durability and stiffness is lost compared to a heavier construction due to the reduction in materials used and a keel strip is highly recommended with this option. Lightweight Kevlar Carbon Clear Hull (LW KC Clear Hull)- £3'195
Both the kevlar carbon constructions can be made with a clear gel coat on the hull, allowing you to see the kevlar carbon underneath. This option shaves around 2lbs (2 LBS/3/4 KG) Depending on model, off a kevlar Carbon or Lightweight Kevlar Carbon construction and is perfect for those looking for a really light kayak. Some durability and stiffness is lost compared to a heavier construction due to the reduction in materials used and we recommend a keel strip is used with this option. Seams protect the join between deck & hull and are essential for heavy use & instructing. Glass wide seams for the inside & outside (20mm) are included in the price of Diolen construction boats.
